This unit showed that the approach to teaching would depend on the size and dynamic of the group being taught. While there are differences to how you approach teaching absolute beginners versus students with some knowledge of the language, young learners versus adult learners, and business learners versus those with another reason for learning, there are also some things that are consistently true. It is important to use English and encourage use of English as much as possible. Also, try to address individual needs without putting people on the spot, and offer corrections when necessary, but don't overcorrect. This could make them less apt to try. Finally be consistent, fair, and firm, but try to keep things fun.
