Students are highly receptive to teachers’ attitudes and manners, so teachers must be aware of how they conduct themselves in the classroom. It can be easy to get frustrated or frazzled, like in the first lesson, but being prepared is a huge factor in avoiding that negative class environment. The second lesson was far more successful because the teacher was prepared, approachable, and receptive to his students. It is important for a teacher to adapt to their class, be it in adjusting activities to engage their students or explaining things in a different way for them to better understand. When you don’t get the answer or result you wanted, it is unproductive to behave like the first lesson, just asking the same question and getting frustrated. Instead, you need to find a new way to get there: use a different prompt, give some assistance, clarify yourself with different and clear language.
