Unit twenty focuses on common problem situations and how to deal with those in the most effective way. Meeting students for the first time can represent a challenge for the unexperienced teacher as at the start you need to establish rapport with the students and set the tone for the rest of the course. There are two categories of groups considered in this chapter: the new group and the existing group. Differences and activities designed to gain more information have been discussed. Following sections of this last unit focus on warmers and the related activities, the learning speed differences, how to deal with a large group, strategies to avoid the use of students' L1, how to effectively encourage all students, even reluctant ones, to participate and how to introduce listening activities.
