The development of a course syllabus is important and should be completed before the course begins. It provides structure and organization for both the student and teacher. When drafting a course syllabus you should back out time for course introduction and also testing and evaluation and then divide the remaining time into lesson units. This provides a framework for the course. At the completion of the course it is very important to ask for feedback/evaluation from the students in order to learn what worked and what didn't, and to obtain information for possible changes that may need to be made to the curriculum or teaching style. It is also helpful to obtain information to include in a report back to the employer.
