This unit was interesting. Not only did it differentiate itself from standard units I've had so far, it provided two contrasting scenarios and made a powerful call for greater teacher involvement in classrooms. Based on the preparation, personal charisma, and lesson plans of the teacher, students' learning outcomes could have been drastically different. I feel like there are several things to take away: first, always try to establish a personal connection with students in class. Also, it's important to encourage students and acknowledge their work. Of course, it's equally important to explain assignments thoroughly.
