In this Unit I have learnt the functions of a lesson plan. A lesson is an aid to planning. You should write down what you want the students to achieve in the lesson and how you intend to do that. This is broken down in stages and a rough time frame is set for each phase. A lesson plan is used to help to keep you on track during a lesson and is something you can refer to but it is important to also be flexible to suit the needs of the class. A lesson plan can also act as a record, so you can keep track of what your students have learnt so you don't end up teaching the same lesson twice, to the same students.
