This is the type of information and training I wish I had when I was teaching in Japan. Teachers were given a lot of freedom on how they wanted to teach (within the framework of the NOVA method) so little was provided on HOW to teach. I basically had a day or so of training and then was thrown into a training lesson with real students. I think I did pretty good considering, but if I had the theoretical and practical training of this unit before hand I would have been more confident during my first lessons. Knowing the Engage-Study-Activate format and the different games and methods for engaging with the students would have been invaluable to me. I think I would have relied less on repetitive lessons that I felt comfortable with or were successful. With this being another unit I find essential, I will be making a binder of all the units to keep for a good reference.
