I've learned a great deal about the importance of proper pronunciation training to students in this lesson, as well as was introduced to the Phonemic Alphabet. I had seen certain symbols in this alphabet before, but had no prior professional training on the subject, so it was very interesting to learn about, and can only help in the classroom. In addition, I learned more about stress, rhythm and intonation in regards to proper teaching of English. I had not given this area as much thought so it was especially great to keep it in my mind and read more about it, in particular, rise/fall, fall/rise, etc. intonations. Stress was a great one as well, because there are so many ways one can interpret something, especially written, without understanding the context or the stress of a particular word when spoken. This unit went into depth regarding articulation as well, and the different organs involved in creating vibration and sound.
