Today I have learnt how to teach different groups of students and what the differences between them. I also have learnt some dos and don’ts while teaching young learners - like not to use only one activity, but change them frequently, so lessons are not boring.
The basic thing for all groups of learners - not to use their mother tongue, because it will not help to have a proper conversation in English, but at the same time it is very important to give simple instructions and keep the language at the point where everybody could understand what the teacher wants.
Also if teacher gives individual lessons, which are quite different, a useful point to learn was - to be over prepared for lessons, means the teacher may have more exercises, because usually individuals can learn way faster, than a group.
