Unit 1 of this course provides an overview of each unit, introduces the different settings, topics, and conditions in which one might teach business English, and explains some professional terminology used in the course. Though I am an experienced EFL instructor, I learned a few new things in this unit. First, I learned what to expect from the course and the topics that I will study in the coming weeks. I'm excited to improve my teaching skills, particularly in assessing my students at each stage of their lessons and in preparing and creating the syllabus and accompanying materials. I was glad to see these topics, and more, included in the course. Second, I learned new terminology for the different fields and certifications related to my career. I knew some of the acronyms already but many were new to me. Finally, this unit gave me some ideas for ESP courses that I can create and use with my students. I believe this course can be a source of inspiration by providing me with the information I require to advance my career. I'm looking forward to learning more in units 2-6.
