As I have worked in educational college for many years helping tutors with the use of audio-visual materials within their classes on many different subjects and themes this unit has been an easier component for me. I effectively was the central person for all teachers to come for learning equipment that was not purely computer -based. Items such as cameras and video recorders and I even offered a programme recording service.
The IWBs are an extra tool rather than a replacement of other classroom tools but can take some time and practice in setting them up correctly so can become rather cumbersome to use effectively. One of the best uses I saw was when individual hand held devices were handed out and multi choice questionnaires were given. Business courses tend to use this new interactive technology when training their new employees. If there is this technology in the classroom I would use it to collect data on how each student is getting on with their studies and progression reports.
