This unit went over modal verbs, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice, which are the last (but certainly not the least) of the basic grammar concepts that I would expect to encounter in the curriculum of an EFL class. The unit stressed that even though these concepts may be especially confusing to EFL students, they are important to introduce if students aim to gain fluency with the language. I learned that modal verbs are common verbs (e.g., can, may, could, might, should, etc.) that we put before other verbs to add meaning; that phrasal verbs include those that do not need an object in the sentence, those that need one but only following the entire phrasal verb, and those that can have the object either between or following the verb and the particle.
