Lesson plans are important because it provides structure, which shows confidence to the students. If a teacher didnt have lesson plans, they would seem unorganised and potentially the students may not take them seriously. They may disengage from the lesson. It is crucial to also ensure the lesson plan can be altered if required. For example if the students are really enjoying one aspect of the lesson, or if they finish all the activities before the expected time, the lesson plan will need to be altered on the spot.
