From this unit, I learned that a teacher must play many roles and become adept at switching between then. Great teachers know how to facilitate, monitor, assess, inspire, and motivate their students by encouraging them and guiding them through engaging lessons. Teachers must balance between teacher-focused and student-focused aspects of lessons. Students, on the other hand, can strive to be active learners by listening closely to instructions, be willing to fix errors, and experiment with the language. A learner's age may affect how they learn, but all ages can be taught a new language.
