This unit focuses on teaching English to special goups. How to handle teaching beginners or what to consider teaching multi-language versus mono-language classes.
Major parts of the unit are concerned with teaching English to young learners and to teaching business English.
Young learners do not usually choose to be there, they have no further motivation to learn English other than what is happening in the lessons. Therefore the lessons should be fun and with diverse activities to keep their attention. Encouragement from the teacher is also very important.
For teaching Business English it is important to know what it is the clients will need to know. Do they mainly need the English language for presentations, negotiation, formal writings etc. and to focus on those needs during the course of the lessons.
