The final unit focuses on knowing what to do when you come across a bump in the lesson plan, finding ways to get around a problem without interrupting the flow of the class. The section I found the most useful was ‘different levels’, which discuss how to proceed with activities when there is a stark classroom dynamic between weaker and stronger learners. Prior to this unit, I never considered how to handle a class that would require different activities for different sections of learners, giving the stronger learners more difficult tasks. Knowing how to incorporate the activities when necessary and making sure there are common themes that don’t separate the groups too much.
