In this unit, I learned about the different tools that can be used in a classroom during a lesson. Things like a black or whiteboard, OHP, IWB, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorder, CD player, videos and DVDs, video camera, dictionaries, coursebooks, resource books, photocopiers, computers, and online resources.
I have seen all of these being used in the classroom by my different teachers, and I do have to say they are effective. I remember when I was an ESL student, my teacher used DVDs so that at the end of watching the DVD, we would write a short summary about it. This not only kept my attention on the movie, but helped me develop my English writing skills. I plan on using a lot of these tools as a TEFL Teacher in the future.
