Coursebooks can make for useful guides in the classroom although they come with some drawbacks. Coursebooks can become dry and predictable if used too much and they are created for students of all nationalities, therefore they may lack in material necesary for students of a particular background. It is important to consider price and material included when selecting a coursebook as well as the methodology used so that the book can as helpful as possiible for my students. I should also be able to replace or adapt materials that aren't as relevant or appropriate for my students and be able to supplement with authentic materials like movie scenes and magazine pages and created materials like word searches and gap-fills.
