In this unit we studied the two receptive skills, reading and listening. I had never really stopped to consider the fact that there are different types of listening and reading. Such as when I am just skimming or actually reading for information. It is interesting to me how if a student never got past the reading for information, or reading to understand every word, the student would have a very hard time reading for pleasure or reading very quickly in general.
