In this lesson, I learned about the usage of coursebooks. The disadvantages were a little surprising to me, as I had previously assumed most teachers structured their curriculum around a particular coursebook. Naturally there would be substitutions and revamping of the lessons, but for the most part, I had assumed the teachers all followed a guideline. I believe that a coursebook would be helpful, particularly for me, as I am new to teaching English. I do, however, plan to customize and revamp lessons to fit my style and the learning needs of the students, as it was pointed out in the lesson, that the coursebooks can often be outdated and not completely the right fit for the classroom.
