In the first unit of this course I have learned that a teacher has various roles to fulfill and must be capable of assessing the most appropriate time to fulfill each role. At times I will be introducing new material and setting an example, I will need to prompt my students and allow them to practice speaking with each other, and I must evaluate and correct their mistakes without hindering their confidence. I understand that my students need my guidence just as much as they need opportunities to practice more independently and use critical thinking to obtain a better grasp of the lesson material. As a teacher I should be a good model as an English speaker and always try to encourage the interest and motivation of my students.
