This unit is based on two videos with different lessons but based on the same theme. This is grammar lesson. I want to share my ideas about these lessons. As for lesson number one I would have felt discouraged from learning English. Teacher keeps on repeating “this is easy”. This comment would have been extremely off-putting, because I clearly did not understand and it would make me feel uncomfortable. Because he did not provide good explanation only asked questions and gave answers, I would have not been engaged or willing to participate. Moreover, he gave negative comments which is not the proper thing to do in a classroom during the lesson. As for the lesson number two I would have felt comfortable and excited to learn. This teacher was full of energy, which would have encouraged my lerning. Additionally, he was funny and clear. He spoke slowly and used body language, gestures, and real objects, which was effective to help the students to understand the theme of the lesson. Especiallyu I like that the teacher was attentive and build rapport with student, he used their names. Both lessons are structures as a “straight arrow ESA lesson”. During the Study phase of the first lesson the teacher used worksheet as the reinforcenent activity. A for the Activate pahase the activiy was messy and confusing for students. As the second lesson durinf stusy phase teacher used worksheet. The instructions were clear and good. As for the activate phase he used mill drill activity. It`s great for the grammar lessons. The main phases of these lessons are Engage, Study and Activate. I think that lesson number two is better. This unit is great. Thank you ITTT!
