This was a very content heavy unit discussing a very difficult issue in teaching English, phonology. This was my first experience with the phonetic alphabet and I found it very interesting and useful, it notes that a clear understanding of it as well as opportunity to teach it to students gives the possibility of using the alphabet at all times, such as learning pronunciation from dictionaries. This unit also covers intonation which refers to the flow and emphasis used in full sentences. The course gives options of teaching this emphasis and I liked the idea of using nonsense words and making sentences with different emotions.
