In this unit the different forms of testing are discussed. Beginning with a placement exam and to ensure the student is placed in the correct initial language level. Progress tests aim to discover the student's retention of the materials. Diagnostic testing is used to help the instructor determine what particular areas need work and helps to guide with lesson planning. Practice tests are used to prepare for external exams and external exams are used to test overall language knowledge with an end goal in mind.
