Harrisville, Utah TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
In this unit, I have learned more about teaching the following: Modal Auxiliary Verbs, Phrasal Verbs, and the Passive Voice. In learning how to teach the Passive Voice, I have learned 14 modals, their usages, and a number of ways to incorporate their usage in the classroom through activities such as having the students establish rules or introducing pictures of road signs and having students use the new modal to give the meaning of the street sign. In regards to the Passive Voice, I have learned how to change the active tense to the proper passive formation. In addition, I learned that students will most likely struggle with sentence formation, such as omitting the 'to be' verb or using the 'to be' verb in the wrong tense. Finally, I learned about Relative Clauses, which I never knew to be a group of words containing a subject and a verb. I learned the three types of clauses (Independent, Dependent, and Relative). I also learned what Phrasal Verbs are and their usage- they are multi-word verbs consisting of a verb plus one or two particles that work as one item.
