This unit outlines the variety of English learners that one will encounter. I learned that regardless of who I will be teaching it's important to first assess the student, identify their needs, seek to understand their motivation in learning the English language. Also it's necessary to not fall back to the native language when students are not understanding the lesson. Rather it's important to slow down and use other means to explain the lesson. In teaching children for example, as adults children respond to teachers being a little silly and creative. Teaching children may differ from business English greatly however it's important to speak slowly.
