There are several teaching aids discussed in Unit 17 that are making lessons more effective and more interesting. Foremost of all is the white/blackboard or more recently the interactive whiteboard used in advanced countries. With respect to board work the teacher must use correct writing tool for the board and avoid capitalized texts which may be difficult to read.
Other suggested teaching aids are as follows: overhead projector which helps in focusing student attention, visual aids which are often used to illustrate meaning more quickly, videos and DVDs among other things which are used for presenting information and building comprehension skills. In terms of written resources dictionaries, course books and resource books are available. Finally, computers are so useful as word processor and a reference tool for anything that can be searched in the internet.
