I found this unit to be particularly challenging because I never learnt the parts of speech in a formal setting. I learnt:
Nouns - which have 5 main types and can be divided into Plurals, Countable Nouns, and Uncountable Nouns.
Adjectives - which in the comparisons of comparatives and superlatives.
Articles - which include Indefinite and Definite.
Verbs - Transitive, Intransitive, Infinitives, and Auxiliary Verbs. Verbs also have 4 different tenses.
Adverbs - which include Manner, Place, Time, Degree, Frequency.
Gerunds - (ING)
Pronouns - Include Personal, Possessive, Reflexive, Relative.
Prepositions and Conjunctions
Learning and retaining this information will be crucial in being a good TEFL teacher because the more confident I am in my speaking fundamentals the better I can teach my students.
