In this unit, I learned about reading and listening in english. There were many insightful suggestions about teaching students how to read and listen which I do agree with. If the students are not into the topic or subject you are using to teach english, then it will be difficult to keep students engaged in your class and have the students maintain the knowledge that the learned in class. Using a relatable and interesting topic is a great way to keep the class engaged. I also learned about the uses of the receptive skills which I would use as a way to convey the importance of having these receptive skill sets.
