The first part of unit 5 focused on what teachers can do with their body language, voice tone and volume, and eye contact to be the most effective teacher they can be. The unit also focused on many different aspects of classroom management such as discipline, seating, building rapport with students, giving instructions, and writing on the board. I felt this unit was very informative because I took a lot of these actions for granted while working in classrooms. I never really thought about how to minimize time with your back turned while writing on the board or how eye contact can be used most effectively. I also really appreciated the section on discipline because I feel that that can be the hardest part of classroom management in some cases and often a very tricky subject to navigate.
