Knowing how to best present the lesson by planning based on which skills are being taught is important. It would be naive of us to think that we could simply present based on our knowledge alone. I have seen the difference in how I present material to my nieces and nephews and how I would need to present it to someone from the different L1 background. It comes a bit more naturally when teaching an L1 English student then when teaching an L2 student. So this lesson along with all the other lessons I have been through thus far I feel are important.
