In this unit we learned about the productive skills, speaking and writing. While both of these are different they are both used for the purpose of communicating with one another. Writing, unfortunately, tends to be a neglected skill as teachers tend to consider it to be ‘quiet time’ and prefer not to take up valuable class time with these activities. Writing is an important and difficult skill, though, and should not be ignored. Whether writing or speaking communication can be difficult especially when not in ones native language. When teaching communication teachers should give a purpose for the lesson to create a desire and drive to learn among the students. In addition this lesson also looked at games that can be used inside the classroom.
