I have no books in my county so creativity is a must and I must adhere to the state standards for teaching my subject area. I like having to be creative because I can design exercises or games that students like and will help them learn at the same time. I use individual whiteboards also for class exercises as well as color-coding on the large whiteboard. It is easier to break down lessons and scaffold the knowledge so that it more comfortably brings students into the next level. I can still utilize resources from a large selection of past curriculum but times have changed, mostly in technology so I need to stay one step ahead of my students. I still utilize pencil and worksheets because I feel students retain information better than just doing it on a device.
