I learned the various parts of speech in English grammar. Some things I already knew, such as the definition and purpose of a noun, verb, adjective, etc. Others parts of speech, such as gerunds, prepositions, and articles were concepts that I had only known how to use as a native English speaker, but I had no idea about their definition or purpose until this unit. I realized that English grammar is quite complex and there are a lot of irregularities and rules and conditions to remember.
