The two productive skills are Speaking and Writing. In Speaking, Accuracy and Fluency are equally important as both develops different skills to students. Accuracy activities are controlled by the teacher which helps the students to produce accurate reproduction of language whereas Fluency allows the students to explore the language through creative activities. Through these skills, the students will be able to increase their confidence and overcome fear of making mistakes.
Another productive skill is Writing. As discussed in Unit 12, this skill is often neglected as it takes too much time in the classroom. As a result, writing activities are often assigned as a homework and is never developed. However, Writing must be be equally mastered by the students as it cannot be corrected as soon as the mistake is seen. Thus, the students must develop the following skills: Handwriting, Spelling, Punctuation and Creative writing.
Through the effective ESA methodology, students will be able to master both Speaking and Writing at the same time.
