This unit discussed the English tense system. I learned there are twelve different tenses in the English language. There are three different time-related tenses – past, present and future. This unit focused on the present tense, and the four aspects – simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. I learned there are three forms – affirmative, negative and question form when using present tense. This unit also discussed the usages of each form and provided sample sentences of each. I learned teaching ideas to use during the activate stage of lesson planning. This unit also prepares you to recognize the mistake or error in the sentence, determine why the student(s) might make the error/mistake, and develop a teaching method to correct the mistake. This task was not simple, and it facilitated my own learning of the material.
