In this unit, we learned about selecting and using course material (such as coursebooks, recordings, etc.). Topics covered the differences between created and authentic materials (and a few pros and cons for each), what's typically included with course books, and then provided an overview about the advantages and disadvantages of course books, how to use and adapt course books, and under which criteria a coursebook should be selected given the opportunity to select one. This information is very valuable because it forms the basis for our lesson plans and provides a guide for how and in which order language points are taught.
