Unit 15 talked about different ways evaluating students levels and progress, as well as some of the common external exams that students need to be prepared for. There are a number of ways that students can be assessed, through tutorials, and by testing. Tutorials can be done with the whole class or individuals, reviewing what was done, discussing the aim of the lesson, how well the students performed the task and if there was any problems. Evaluation by the students can be done by questionnaires, guided discussions to find out if the students are getting enough grammar, and to get general feed back about the skills being taught. Test can be giving at at the beginning of a class such as placement and diagnostic to see the level of the language the student is at and to place them with the correct group and to prepare lessons accordingly. There is periodic progress testing, this tell how well you and the students are doing. There is regular short test, achievement test, placement test, diagnostic test and practice test.
There are different external exams that are done to test students on there knowledge of English.
