In this unit, I studied modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Starting with modal auxiliary verbs, there are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to needn't and ought to. Each modal has different uses, present, future and past tenses and also expresses different level of certainty and politeness. Roleplays, rules and signs can be good ideas to teach modals.
For passive voice, we started by talking about active voice. Then we moved on to passive voice forms for different tenses, their usage, typical student errors and teaching ideas.
Except for that, we also talked about relative clauses. There are usually three categories of clauses: independent clause, dependent clause and relative clause. For relative clauses, we have defining and non-defining clauses.
In the end, we discussed phrasal verbs which includes: intransitive phrasal verbs, transitive separable phrasal verbs and transitive inseparable phrasal verbs.
This is a little more complicated than other grammar parts. however very useful though.
