This unit provided information about the different types of course materials a teacher can use. The two main types are authentic and created materials, the latter of which is divided into course books and teacher created materials. The materials that we give to our students can have a great impact on their learning; created materials are suitable for beginners, but authentic materials can inspire more confidence and interest once students reach a higher language level. This unit has made me think more about how I will choose the base materials for my lessons, in order to provide students with comprehensive understanding, interesting materials, and a sense of progress.
