Productive Skills include speaking and writing. Writing is often forgotten during a language training course due to the focus on speaking. Actually these two skills are equally important. In speaking it's important that we communicate with a purpose, with something to say, include listening and genuinely interested in what is about to be said. Writing requires the writer to correctly spell the words and produce sentences with correct grammar. Otherwise the message can be misunderstood. In speaking we can immediately make the needed corrections but in writing the feedback is delayed and more misunderstanding often occurs in writing. Both skills are equally important to master.
