This was a very useful unit for a number of different reasons. First off, thinking about the many possible activities for teaching intonation was very interesting. Something as simple as a one-word sentence can provide great opportunities for English learners to engage with. It was also very interesting to engage with the football scores activity - I have experienced hearing these before, and would like to share that kind of information with my students. Downloading a phonetic alphabet chart was also very interesting. I was familiar with many of the symbols, but having them in a sentence form required more investigating on my part, and something which may be interesting for English learners to engage with too.
