This unit discussed the five major tests ESL teachers will run into throughout their teaching experience: placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests, and general examinations. The text described each test and discussed the purpose and aim of teach assessment. The unit also included a practice placement test. As I have studied a foreign language before, a lot of these tests were familiar to me because I have had a lot of exposure to them. I found it helpful that the chapter clearly defined each one and provided a helpful example of a placement test.
