This unit has taught me a lot because as the introduction mentioned, Teachers do not pay a great amount of time in phonetics. I understand how important pronunciation can be to a new learner of the English language and learnt how different parts of our speech organs can influence the way we pronounce. The tones were familiar to me as I am studying Mandarin and understand the importance of tone in speech. I also found very interesting learning the phonetics alphabet and reading various phrases with it in the questionnaire. This module was completely new to me and very helpful in my learning.
