This unit was interesting but a bit less stimulating and informing for me than the last fourteen. I am having quite a bit of trouble distinguishing between placement and diagnostic tests based on the descriptions of theses two in relation to the way that they are staged on the test. I did learn a lot about the different types of external examinations. I am glad for the reminder that, while these students would like to be able to use English as functionally as possible, it is also important that they have enough of the basics down to pass an external exam if need be. Learning more about what is on these exams could be helpful in deciding what to teach the students in my classroom.
