In Unit 18, I learned about the different ideas that one can express with modal auxiliary verbs. Some modals include the following: can, could, would, will, must, may, and might. Modals can convey concepts such as obligation, possibility, permission, and ability. A few modals are more formal than the others. In this unit, I also learned about the difference between active voice and passive voice. Active voice focuses more on the doer of an action; passive voice concentrates more on the object of an action verb.
