Unit 1 lays out a clear outline of expectations and roles for students and teachers. The roles are often very fluid and it is up to the teacher to maintain a proper balance between the different roles and adapt as the occasion rises. While I have had much experience working with kids and young adults of various learning levels and abilities, having read through this unit is a great refresher. Additionally, it is very beneficial as it points out the differences between learning levels and age levels specifically in regards to language learning.
