Like the receptive skills of listening and reading, the productive skills of speaking and writing are equally important in learning a new language. There are slightly different challenges to implementing the productive skills since it introduces the variables of penmanship, accent, and the general fact that it's much harder to follow language when it's being used fluently than when it's being used in a controlled manner. The biggest takeaway is to create activities that the students will be interested in completing, and to use games that allow the students to practice creative speaking freely.
