Unit 19 discusses teaching English to various special groups. Beginner groups may be absolute beginners, false beginners , young learners, adult learners and beginner learners with no roman alphabet. These classes will need to be more visual.
Other special groups include 1 to 1, young learners and business English. My interest is with the young learners. These classes need to be consistent, yet fun to keep the children engaged and motivated. Activities should be shorter, and it would benefit the teacher to be over prepared to maintain interest.
With all of these classes, it is important for the teacher to talk in English rather than the L1 of the students. Keep language simple.
