In this unit, I learned about the importance of speaking and writing. These two skills are your productive skills and are equally important. I learned about the various types of activities that can be used to improve the students speaking and writing skills. When teaching the productive skills we want to watch out for the accuracy and fluency of the students skill. We also need to be mindful of which aspect we emphasize and when we emphasize it. At times we may want to focus on fluency so we should not worry if the students are not completely accurate and vice versa. Also, I should be mindful of what the students are lacking in more and see if more time should be spent in those area, whether it is accuracy or fluency.
